During my travels last semester in Europe my program visited a worldwide full service creative advertising agency in Paris known as Publicis Groupe. The presentation started with us sitting down in a theater style room that has been used for 100 years at the company. We received a private viewing of an Advertisement for Cartier that blew our minds and epitomized the effectiveness of creative advertising.
The presenter then showed us more advertisements for many high profile brands and explained the importance of analyzing data once a brand is launched. The company has history that stretches back to 1926 and revenue that exceeds 6 billion euro a year. Publicis has been chasing innovation and keeping up with trends throughout its life cycle and has not limited its talent to just France with 48,000+ employees worldwide. The statistic that interested me the most is that Publicis now generates 40% of revenue from online advertising and they have a growing mobile division. It is imperative to be a first mover in the mobile segment as it will become the #1 medium to view media in the near future.
