Tictail Swedish eCommerce Company Raises $8 Million

TicTail, a do it yourself eCommerce platform that was developed in Sweden, raised $8 million in Series A funding from by Thrive Capital as reported today.

The company functions alot like etsy, but the catch is that the platform is free and you only have to pay for app additions that help take your store to the next level. You do not need to buy these if you don’t want. The store is connected to paypal and you can customize every aspect of your store, down to the CSS coding, payment options, shipping prices, policies and product details. Tictail is using part of their funding to open up a brand new office in New York City and help grow the community that currently has 35,000 online stores. I see this being a huge success in the future and it is most definitely exciting times for this startup
